Hello Martin , what a great website. My situation is Ilive on my own in a small 2 bed. flat.Ihave paid the energy bills quarterly by cash with Scottish Hydro.Iam probably a low user, and bills not too bad apart from the winter. Can you suggest a tarrif that would suit me Idont mind an online account but do not wish to commit to direct debit. Iam on dual fuel General Saver gas and Std. dom. elec. Thanks.
Hi Evelyn
Because you prefer to pay on receipt of the bill, I would advise that you don’t switch supplier at the moment. Energy prices are on the increase, and there are still some suppliers who have not yet increased their prices. If you were a direct debit paying consumer, then I would suggest you go for a fixed price tariff. The energy suppliers give bigger discounts when you pay by direct debit. If you would like to come back to me when EDF and npower have increased their prices, we can take a more realistic look for your cheapest supplier. If you decide to come back for more info, could you please provide the first part of your postcode, and your annual consumption. Scottish Hydro provide you with an annual statement!
My husband and I live in a 3 bed semi detached property. We have been retired 8 years now and have been on ‘Stay Warm’ tarrif with EON. Is it possible to say whether this tarrif is still best for us or whether we would benefit from ‘Sureonline9Tarrif’?
Hi Vera
This would depend on your energy consumption. E.ON send you a statement each year, this will show you how much gas and electricity you consumed las year in KWH. If you would like me to look into this for you, please reply to this message with the following information:
1. The first part of your postcode
2. How many KWH gas & electricity you consumed last year
3. How much are E.ON charging you per month for the current year
First part of post code WV14
Our usage for the past year
Electricity average usage per day 13.5kWh (last year 14.8kWh)
Gas average usage per day 36.7kWh (last year 42.9kWh)
Total usage in last 12 months
Electricity 4,914 kWH
Gas 13,400 kWh
Amount quoted for the coming year £116.64 per month
Hi Vera Burns
I just did a quote for you based on the information you supplied. I didn’t know who your current supplier is, or your full postcode, so I just improvised those details.
If you need any further help, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Many thanks
Martin
we are at present with Eon on Staywarm tarrif. We are requested to pay £116.64 for the coming twelve months
you say you have done a quote for me.can you email that quote please to veraburns@blueyonder.co.uk
Hi Vera. I don’t always see what you see on here. which is why my previous message makes out I don’t know who your supplier is. But now after looking at these comments from the front end of my website, I can see, I asked you for details you already provided
so which is the best tarrif for us now?
Hi Vera
Based on the information you have provided. npower would provide your cheapest tariff with their Go Fix 10 tariff. http://energy-advise.com/visit/npower/
They would charge you about £103 per month, and pay you a rebate of £105 (after 12 months) which is included in the tariff savings.
Another option would be to go with Scottish Power on their Online Energy Saver 17 tariff. They would charge you about £95 per month with no annual rebate http://energy-advise.com/compare/energyprices/
Hi Martin.
We are with BG and considering moving, one of the cheaper tarriff’s would seem to be Sainsburys. We live in a 4 bed detached and there are 3 of us, two addults and a child, paying monthly and online, any advice?
Hi Graham
If you would like to provide your postcode and current annual consumption for you gas and electricity, I will be able to better advise you. It may be that you are better off with a fixed price deal
