New figures for energy usage during Coronavirus
Staying at home using more gas and electricity
The Coronavirus is having a major impact on the economy, and the consumers ability to manage their bills. This latest report shows the expected energy usage with spending only an additional 10 weeks at home.
The figures are taken from the average UK energy consumption of:
- Gas = 12000 KWH’s
- Electricity = 3100 KWH’s
These figure are used as a national average to show general figures for energy usage. Your own usage will most likely be different to the figures shown.
What the columns on the chart actually mean:
Blue with orange on top – This is Standard energy prices. Standard Energy is the most expensive. The blue bar represents normal average energy usage. The orange bar represents our projected additional energy usage for those staying at home during the Coronavirus outbreak!
Green with yellow on top – This is discounted energy prices. Discounted Energy is the cheapest you can get. The green bar represents the price you would pay for normal energy usage. The yellow bar represents our projected additional energy usage for those staying at home during the Coronavirus outbreak!
Why are some people on Standard Energy prices and, others on Discounted Energy prices?
The reason some people pay more than others varies according to the type of meters you have.
If you use a prepay meter, you have little choice in the price you pay for your energy.
If you pay by Direct Debit, or just make payment when your bill comes in, you may not have applied for a cheaper tariff!
