Who is on Standard Energy?
Standard Energy is the default tariff. Pretty much everyone starts on the Standard Energy Tariff.
You will be on Standard Energy if:
- You just moved into a new home.
- You have not recently switched to another tariff.
How much does Standard Energy cost?
Standard Energy is the most expensive tariff. Typically if you consume the average amount of gas 12000 KWH and the average amount of electricity 2900 KWH, it would cost you in the region of £1009.
Tariff comparison example:
You live in the West Midlands, you are on a Standard Tariff with E.ON Energy. Your tariff name is E.ON Energy Plan.
You consume 12000 KWH of Gas and 2900 KWH of electricity. Your total cost for energy over a year is £1008.46. If you choose to switch to a cheaper online tariff to Shell Energy, and you choose their tariff – Energy February 2022 v5, for the same amount of gas and electricity usage, you price would be £828.04.
