When leaving your review for an energy supplier
Please follow these rules to ensure readers can get a genuine idea of your experience with the supplier.
Please don’t:
- Post reviews with referral links
- leave any discount codes
- Use words like “rubbish supplier” without leaving your reason for writing this
- Give a fake email address. We may wish to contact you about your review (we won’t share your email address with anyone)
- Write a review just after you have switched to that supplier.
- Make a review about being an employee with the supplier.
- Leave any personal details in the review body, such as energy account numbers or your phone number.
- Put any persons name in the review body unless you are praising that person.
Please do:
- Give a clear and concise review about your experience with the supplier.
- Ensure your review is genuine and based on your personal experience.
Leaving genuine reviews
By following these rules, we hope to provide anyone with the intention of switching supplier, to be able to read genuine reviews.
Because some energy suppliers reward existing customers when others join them through a referral link, many reviews on large review websites don’t give a true measure of that suppliers performance.
Example:
Reviews on a large review website for a supplier that rewards their customers – Score 9.8 out of 10. The same supplier with reviews on the Energy Advisory Service UK website may have a score of 2.8 out of 5. Because we don’t publish reviews containing referral links, you see a more accurate measure of genuine customer feedback.
