Which supplier is best, Scottish Power or Octopus Energy?

We look at the pro’s and con’s for both Scottish Power and Octopus Energy. Weigh up the price against customer service. Is one really better than the other, or does it simply come down to making a choice by who is the cheapest?

Scottish Power

Scottish Power is one of the Big 6 energy suppliers. You would think they have been around long enough to get things right. They are one of the big players so purely because of the large number of customers, they do get quite a lot of complaints. They also get things right for most of their customers. Scottish Power is now owned by the Spanish Company, Iberdrola!

Octopus Energy

Octopus Energy is one of the newer suppliers to come into the energy market. As with most new suppliers there is a bit of a learning curve. Octopus appear to be getting things right though. The level of complaints made to third party Ombudsman services is extremely low.
