Outfox The Market

Just reading reviews by others which has confirmed what I was thinking. I am now almost certain that they are just making up the amount they bill you every month. This month I used 25 units of electricity and 24 days of standing charge, they billed me £67 for this, I think not!!! I proceeded to work out what the bill should have been myself, turns out its £21 which is what I have paid them. As a retired accountant I am perfectly placed to be able to realise when something is wrong and recalculate it, however I was rudely told by a lady on the phone that, I was wrong and she was qualified to tell me I was wrong because she had a maths degree so there!, at which point I advised her of all my qualifications which I might add are far more relevant to her job as they are accountancy based rather than pure maths, the two are very different.
I think that what is happening here could be one of two things, either their accounts dept staff are totally untrained and inept as it is pretty obvious to me that they dont know how to run a ledger, journal money or allocate payments to your account which really is entrance level stuff.
So either the staff have inadequate experience, their computerised account system has been written by a three year old or they are overriding the system for some reason.
Anyway after this months debarckal its buy,buy Outfox!

what a joke of a company

What they don;t tell you is that the so called debt collection letters from Bastian Legal are in fact the owner of the company and same for debt collection letters. They threatened us with court over alleged £120 bill which was incorrect told them to take court action and suddenly it goes back to the company. When you speak to somebody on the phone and get a name call back in about seven days oh sorry they don't work here now !! They blatantly lied to the ombudsman and when challenged with the rubbish of so sorry we got it wrong and person has left blah blah.
Complete and utter shambles of a company put a meter reading in and suddenly you have been estimated keep all copies of things sent as they lie and say you havent. This company should be struck off by OFGEM get away form them asap

As cunning as a Outfox

Firstly I would like to say why do so many people tolerate being exploited by energy companies because of political agender gone wrong which leave hard working tax payers at the mercy of some Gas and Electric suppliers. We all need to pay our bills, yes, but not through confusing invoices that's hard to work out and the fact that most people are out of their properties mabe 75% of the time either on a school run, holiday, work, or cook once a week etc. Yet some Gas and Electric companies still estimating bills even after they have recieved the meter reading. People are getting fed up due to the stress of cost of living as it involve exploitation of the cost for them to live and the wasted time and energy they have to put into writing complaints after complaint and at the end the issues are not resolved and waiting for a response while the bills are still going up. These time could be spent with getting rest, with family or with our children but rather sending emails after emails complaining for months about the same issue, the over priced Gas and Electric bill. solution, solution, we all need a solution. We only want to Pay for what we us.
This is in reference to Outfox the market as they are taking the opertunity to exploit people. Caught them once on my Gas and Electric bill and they had to reduce the bill. Now they are at it again. I am not getting the response I need as a customer and I find this very unreasonable and disrespectful. I'm hardly in the property yet my Gas and Electric is still too high and getting higher every month. I will reserve my opinion of them hoping that one day they will change. However I'm not sure they will escape the tear that people cried when they see the over charged and complicated invoices. I dont believe in the future of this company abd i have no confident reassurance in their customer service to quicklyvresolve issues so that they can keep customers.

Absolutely shocking customer service outfox

1 star is too much. Joined in October for my holiday property. We are not here a lot, but I have paid nearly £1000 for electric I haven’t used. Given readings, not interested, they’d rather estimate. Customer service is appalling. 20/30 min wait on phone. You email and get a response 10/12 days later communicating nothing relevant to the email you originally sent. They do not know their bums from their elbows but love to get your money and put the price up. I queried a bill and gave them a reading which didn’t match their over estimated bill but they forwarded me onto a debt collector. Disgusting, charlatans. Do not touch with a barge pole!!! Previous Tennant of this property paid over the odds too. £1400 for August to End September!!!!

Poor customer service

Impossible to contact this company by phone or web chat. Tried contacting by email, this does not work either. Been trying to get my smart meter working that was fitted in Jan 2022 but never worked properly.

A very wide berth

Tried today to get a refund of my over 200 pound creditthis is the second time ive had to ask for a refund they will only give you a percentage and i was told by this rather unhelpful person it can take up to 21 days by which time another payment would have gone in i asked about a fixed rate and was told it would be over double what i pay now, avoid this company like the plagueif every customer was over 200 pounds in credit and they have over 100,000 customers there a rip off

Hello Ian. Thanks for leaving your review. It is common practise for suppliers to not give refunds of any credit on the approach to Winter. When you pay by monthly direct debit, the suppliers estimate your annual usage based on typical use for your property, then divide it into 12 equal monthly payments. If you got a refund at this time, you won't have enough to cover your Winter usage.Regarding fixed rate tariffs, none of the suppliers are currently offering anything within an acceptable price range. This is due to the unstable wholesale prices. Perhaps if the agent you spoke with had explained this properly to you, you may not have felt the need to post this review. 🙂

Too good to be true

I went from around 50 pounds a month on E.ON. to a 25 pound a month cost with Outfox the Market. Gradualy added to the direct debit ending around 110 pounds a month. Now when I moved abroad they tell me I owe them more still. If this were the case, my energy costs have gone up over 800% in 3 years. As this came from nowhere exactly during the price spike, 6+ months after moving, I have a gut feeling this company is evil and placed every hour at the spiked price to then say I owe them. As I have no income at all.. They can go.... themselves.

Sometimes, reviews just don’t cut it

Although we have provided a facility for consumers to leave reviews about their energy supplier, we don’t believe these reviews give an accurate measure of the suppliers performance.

A new supplier can ask their customers to leave a review before they have even had a full experience with that supplier. Customers should really give a good bit of time with a supplier before leaving a review.

Why such a low price?

Many will switch to this new supplier purely on price. It’s very normal practice for a new supplier to hit the energy market with the lowest prices to gain customers.

Important

We would like to think that energy switching can be a positive thing but, with so many new suppliers going out of business, increasing their prices after you get your foot in the door and, other things that should make energy switching a positive action. There is a way you can get it right.

Energy suppliers terms and conditions

Of course, you read all the terms and conditions before you switch supplier – Don’t you? All kidding aside, who wants to read all that boring stuff –  Ahem, we did!

We know you don’t want to read terms and conditions so, we’ve cut it short and to the point. Take a look at what we did to make energy switching a bit more stress free for you. Once you have left your own review for Outfox the Market, See what we highlighted
